The Mondragon Corporation is both a corporation and a federation of worker-based cooperatives, based in the Basque region of  Spain. It was established in the town of Mondragon in 1956 by Father  Jose Maria Arizmendiarrieta and a group of his students at a technical college he founded. 

The association of over 80 cooperatives are a defining characteristic that has been a source of its strength and success. MONDRAGON as a company has 104 production facilities in 37 countries; a commercial presence in 53, and sales in more than 150. It is hailed as a successful commercial example with a strong social impact foundation.

As part of its framework of the Cooperative Principles and its own experience, MONDRAGON promotes the values ​​of self-demand and co-responsibility, intercooperation, social transformation and good cooperative governance practices. It actively nurtures entrepreneurship, diversification and the generation of new business activities.
